Promeco Responds to Growing Customer Demand: Significant Technology Investments in the Vaasa Unit
The year 2024 has been a time of growth and development for Promeco’s Vaasa unit, as the company has made significant investments in new technologies, expanded production facilities and recruited more personnel. These actions have been driven by increasing customer demand and the need to strengthen competitiveness. The total value of the investments will rise to approximately two million euros.
“Technological leadership is a strategic choice for Promeco. With these investments, we will ensure that Promeco stays at the forefront of development in the future,” says Petri Koski, Production Unit Director of the Vaasa unit. Promeco regularly evaluates its own operations, and with these development projects, the goal is to proactively respond to changing customer needs.
Customer-Centric Solutions
Most of the investments are focused on new technology and production equipment. The 10-kW laser system enhances operational efficiency and quality and increases the offering to customers. A 30-t overhead crane has also been added to the production line, enabling flexible handling of heavier products.
Other purchases include a new 130 t press brake and a 2-kW laser welding machine. Active system and software development work are also at the core of our operations. This makes it possible to increase the level of automation while ensuring that the necessary software is up to date.
“The development of technological working methods is the foundation of our operations. It ensures that we can offer our customers high-quality and tailored service,” says Promeco’s Sales Director Hanna Pahkala. New technologies and software integrations support a customer-centric approach, enabling the production of even higher-quality products that meet customers’ exacting requirements.
Internal Improvements
Production facility upgrades are still partially underway. With the expansion, the premises of the Vaasa unit will total approximately 6400 square metres. The growing operations have also required careful planning in terms of resourcing and risk management. “As operations expand rapidly, it is crucial to pay specific attention to safety and project management,” Koski says.
The expansion has also brought new job opportunities and enabled the addition of production shifts, further increasing production capacity.
Promeco continues its comprehensive development efforts to ensure its competitive advantage and meet future market challenges. “Our goal is to secure our position in technology development so that every investment supports the strategy,” Koski sums up.
