Employee stories
Summer job at Promeco has been nice
Every summer, Promeco is bustling when new summer employees arrive. Promeco hires summer workers for different tasks in different departments. One is Roni Raitaluoma, who started working in electrical and electronics in the summer of 2024.
Summer job at Promeco has been nice
Roni Raitaluoma arrived at Promeco’s Pansia unit in July 2024 and felt welcome from the very beginning.
The reception at Promeco was really good. Everyone was really nice, and I got along well with them.
The company has invested in developing recruitment processes to make starting work as smooth as possible. Ron’s experiences with the onboarding phase are also positive.
At first, I received a comprehensive orientation. For the first two weeks, I was taught by more experienced professionals. They gave me a lot of good advice on how to handle my work tasks in practice.
After the orientation period, Roni has been able to work independently. During the summer, he has learned to assemble smaller centres independently and has been involved in assembling larger centres together with his colleagues.
The projects begin with the assembly of electrical cabinets, after which they are furnished according to the agreed plan. Finally, all connections are made to the cabinet. There has also been some repair work.
Roni says switching is his favourite thing to do, and he could imagine doing similar work in the future, but before that, duty calls.
At first, I only came to Promeco for a summer job, but I was offered the opportunity to continue in the company after the summer. I will be at Promeco until the end of 2024, a total of six months, after which I will leave for the army to do military service. Let’s see what the future holds after that.
