Transparency and business integration at the core of Promeco’s 2025 Sustainability Report
Promeco has published its Sustainability Report for 2025, continuing the company’s long-term work to develop sustainability into a more integrated part of business operations, decision-making, and value chain management.
The 2025 report marks a clear step forward in both the scope and structure of Promeco’s sustainability reporting. Prepared in accordance with the Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs (VSME), the report brings sustainability, operational development, governance, supply chain management, and financial performance into a more holistic and transparent reporting framework.
Scope 3 emissions included for the first time
One of the most significant developments in this year’s report is the inclusion of Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions calculations for the first time. While previous reporting focused primarily on Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, the addition of Scope 3 calculations increases visibility into value chain impacts and strengthens the foundation for future supplier collaboration and emissions reduction initiatives.
“As a customer-oriented company, we are taking systematic steps to deepen our collaboration with our customers. Since 2021, we have calculated our Scope 1 and 2 emissions, and expanding the scope of our work was a natural next step. Building on this strong foundation, we were able to achieve a satisfactory level of accuracy in our Scope 3 calculations.”

Strengthening sustainability data and supplier transparency
Across the manufacturing industry, customer expectations related to sustainability data, supply chain visibility, and compliance reporting continue to increase. During 2025, Promeco further developed its supplier sustainability processes by implementing a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) system and launching a large-scale supplier self-assessment covering environmental, social, and governance topics. The initiative produced a response rate of over 50 percent among direct suppliers and provided more structured data for supplier risk management and sustainability development.
The report also presents sustainability more clearly as part of overall business performance and development. In addition to environmental and social topics, the report includes governance-related development, customer and supplier collaboration, sustainability-related risks and opportunities, as well as financial key figures describing the scale and structure of Promeco Group’s operations.
Sustainability increasingly connected to business development
Promeco’s sustainability reporting has evolved significantly in recent years alongside increasing customer expectations, regulatory development, and growing transparency requirements in industrial supply chains. The company originally prepared for CSRD reporting, but following regulatory changes decided to continue reporting voluntarily under the VSME framework while maintaining its long-term sustainability targets and development work.
Another key focus area during 2025 was the deeper integration of sustainability into operational processes and strategic planning. At Promeco, sustainability is increasingly seen not only as a reporting requirement, but also as a tool for strengthening competitiveness, supporting customer collaboration, improving risk management, and enabling long-term business development.
More transparent and structured sustainability reporting also supports customer collaboration, especially in industries where supply chain visibility, emissions data, and compliance requirements are becoming increasingly important. Developing sustainability data management and reporting capabilities helps improve responsiveness to customer requirements while strengthening long-term partnership development.
“We have been preparing sustainability reports since 2021, and each year we have taken clear steps forward. Throughout this journey, we have strengthened expertise within our sustainability team and developed operating models that support day-to-day operations. At the same time, collaboration across different functions and stakeholders has increased, as sustainability is something we build together.
It has been rewarding to see how our organisation has matured in sustainability topics over the years. With the introduction of the VSME standard, our reporting has gained a clearer structure, supporting stronger integration of sustainability into business development, decision-making, and value chain management going forward.”
